Feeding the Gut Deep Nutrition

Carbohydrates are vital for a balanced diet. These are macronutrients, necessary for a healthy body. Carbohydrates are the main fuel source of energy for muscles and the central nervous system.

There are countless fad diets that come and go, and with that foods get demonized in the noise. One such fad that has been lingering is the fear of carbohydrates in the weight loss space. Are Carbohydrates the problem with the 60% obesity issue in adults, and 40% obesity levels in children in the United States?

Let’s look at the different forms of carbohydrates first.

Simple Carbs: Found in sugary foods and drinks, they are quickly digested and can cause rapid spikes in blood sugar. These spikes can greatly impact both gut and brain health. We now know that Dementia and Alzheimer’s have been coined “Type three Diabetes” or diabetes of the brain. If ever there was a reason to use better care with your diet. it would be to protect your brain to maintain an independent life as aging progresses.

Complex Carbs: Found in whole grains, vegetables, and legumes, they provide sustained energy and are rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Due to their slow digestion, complex carbs provide a longer-lasting energy source compared to simple carbs and helps prevent constipation. Consuming whole grains and fiber-rich vegetables can reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering cholesterol. Complex carbs help maintain stable blood sugar levels, which is particularly beneficial for people with diabetes.

What is true about the problem with carbohydrates? Here are some thoughts to consider:

Glyphosate: Glyphosate is a widely used herbicide, known for its use in agriculture to control weeds. It is the active ingredient in products like Roundup. There is ongoing debate about its safety, with some studies suggesting potential health risks, including cancer, while regulatory bodies like the EPA have generally considered it safe when used as directed. As we have seen widely in the health space, our governmental agencies like the EPA and FDA have been corrupted and hijacked by greed in the form of legal bribery also known as lobbying. This makes knowing where your food comes from more important than ever. Limiting exposure to highly processed packaged foods will mitigate risk and reduce your toxic load of chemicals that destroy the gut microbiome like glyphosate.

Concerns with glyphosate in the diet primarily come from its residue on food crops. Glyphosate has recently been proven to CAUSE lymphoma and other cancers in humans, and there are currently countless lawsuits ongoing for the purposeful poisoning of humans for the benefit of growing faster food.

People looking to avoid glyphosate might choose organic foods or those labeled as non-GMO, as these are less likely to have been treated with glyphosate.

To obtain and maintain a healthy gut, eat REAL FOOD. Cooking and packing your meals ahead of time will rapidly improve your waistline and your toxic load fairly quickly. Your digestion can heal over time, in as little as 2 weeks. Long-term damage such as leaky gut can take quite a bit longer. Having someone to personally manage diet and nutrient dense meals can be life saving in getting through the detoxification phases without quitting.
