Feeling Like Yourself
Baby Steps to Recover Your Vitality
Do you feel like yourself anymore?
I remember hitting a point in my mid thirties where I was no longer able to tough through the pace I had been keeping .
At the time, I had pushed myself to perform and had trouble saying no out of fear that people would be angry at me or not like me anymore. I would say yes out of duty or feeling compelled to serve if asked to, and would feel burnt out.
One of the biggest pieces of any healing journey is to work on your mental and spiritual health. This looks different for everyone but the common component seems to be around self love.
“Loving yourself” is a powerful and deeply personal journey—it means accepting yourself fully, appreciating your worth, and showing kindness to yourself, even when you make mistakes or fall short of your own expectations. It’s not about arrogance or thinking you’re perfect; it’s about recognizing that you’re worthy of love and respect, just as you are.
Practical application:
Speaking kindly to yourself, and about yourself-Pay attention to your inner dialogue. Replace self-criticism with compassion.
Set boundaries – Protect your time and energy. Saying no is a form of self-respect.
Forgive yourself- Everyone makes mistakes. When we lighten up on ourselves, as a byproduct we are gentler with others.
Celebrate ALL wins- Take the time to acknowledge progress, making small goals that are reachable to hit bigger targets in the long run.
Take good care of yourself-Listen to your body. Allow yourself rest and break to reset and recharge.
Hang around with people that make you feel good- Learn to notice who in your life trigger any feelings of panic, anxiety, fear or anger. Get rid of those people as much as possible.
Studies show we are a product of the 5 people we spend the most time with! Yes it’s true!! This includes physical and mental health as well as habits and addictions!
Here is a GREAT link to get inspired on healing thru loving yourself :
IT IS NOT SELFISH to stop hanging around people that drain your energy!
Many people like myself battle health conditions that are exacerbated by toxic people. Loving yourself enough to take good care of yourself is vital to live a long healthy life of self worth and joy.
Remember we are all BIOINDIVIDUAL, what works for one does not work the same for another.
