Have you sat through the commercials on tv lately?
Many of the products harm your hormones, and in between those ads, are ads to buy creams pills or injectables like testosterone to lift the hormones that the product before it harms.
These products increase everything from weight gain to hair loss, hair on your chin, rashes, acne, yeast infections, mood swings and more.
🚫 Hormone-Disrupting Ingredients in Creams
1. Parabens
Why they’re used: Preservatives to prevent mold and bacteria.
Hormonal concern: Mimic estrogen in the body; linked to breast cancer and reproductive issues.
Names to look for: Methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, ethylparaben.
2. Phthalates
Why they’re used: Help fragrances last longer and make products more flexible.
Hormonal concern: Disrupt estrogen and testosterone; associated with infertility and developmental issues.
Names to look for: Often hidden under "fragrance" or "parfum." Look for DBP, DEP, DEHP.
3. Fragrance / Parfum
Why they’re used: To scent products.
Hormonal concern: Often contains a cocktail of chemicals, including phthalates.
Safer bet: Look for products labeled “fragrance-free” or “naturally scented with essential oils.”
4. Triclosan
Why they’re used: Antibacterial agent.
Hormonal concern: Affects thyroid hormones and reproductive systems.
Found in: Antibacterial soaps, acne creams, deodorants.
5. BHA and BHT
Why they’re used: Preservatives.
Hormonal concern: Linked to endocrine disruption and organ toxicity.
Found in: Lipsticks, moisturizers, and other creams.
6. Oxybenzone (and similar chemical sunscreens)
Why they’re used: UV protection.
Hormonal concern: Absorbed through skin; disrupts estrogen and testosterone.
Safer alternative: Use mineral sunscreens (zinc oxide or titanium dioxide).
7. PEGs (Polyethylene glycols)
Why they’re used: As thickeners or solvents.
Hormonal concern: Can be contaminated with 1,4-dioxane, a probable carcinogen and EDC.
